There are numerous ways in order to maintain an active sexual lifestyle without worrying about unplanned pregnancy. There are barrier methods, implants and other types of surgeries. These however may not have a high percentage of preventing pregnancy or undergoes difficult processes. The type of contraception that is both easy and has a very high percentage of preventing pregnancy is oral contraception or most commonly known as pills. They are administered and taken regularly by those who have a sexually active lifestyle. Ortho-Cyclen is one of those coral contraceptives that a lot of women use.
An Ortho-Cyclen pill is also known to treat acne but is more commonly used for contraception. It acts by preventing the ovaries to produce an egg and at the same time, thickens the mucus of the cervix so that sperms will have difficulty to pass through and reach the egg which is located in the fallopian tubes. Ortho-Cyclen should be taken based on the doctor’s advice. Basically they will say how much one should take and when to start taking. Most would be recommended to take it at the first day of their period or the first Sunday after it begins.
Each pack of Ortho-Cyclen contains 28 pills which should be taken regularly on a daily basis. The interval of the pills should not be more than 24 hours and a new set of 28 Ortho-Cyclen pills should be available before the previous one runs out because, as mentioned above, it has to be taken regularly.
Missed pills means an increased risk of pregnancy.
Ortho-Cyclen Pills should not be taken if one just came from a pregnancy or miscarriage. Ask the doctor’s advice on when to start taking. If anybody has gone through a disease which left them bed-ridden or other circumstances, Ortho-Cyclen pills are not recommended. It is also discouraged to take these pills the woman is a smoker for it increases the chance of blood clots, stroke or heart attacks.
